​After opening the wildly successful Urban Crust in 2009, Bonnie and Nathan got the itch to open another restaurant and purchased the original Plano Ice House. After redeveloping the building, they opened Urban Rio in 2012. Longtime residents of the area, the Sheas are advocates to downtown Plano. They are actively involved with area nonprofits, including service on boards of directors, events, sponsorships and in-kind support through their restaurants.

Chef Salvatore Gisellu

Managing Executive Chef

Chef Salvatore began his culinary career in Italy in 1987. After moving to the United States in 1991, he lead several of Dallas' favorite restaurants, like Arcodoro/Pomodoro and Daddy Jack's Grill. In 2009, he joined Bonnie and Nathan to open Urban Crust. In 2014, he joined the Urban Rio team as Managing Executive Chef. Chef Salvatore and his wife, Jeanne-Marie, have two sons, Luca and Matteo.
